ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Cheyenne Marcelus is a writer and performer from Columbia, Mississippi. Her poetry is heavily influenced by her Southern upbringing and her lived experiences as a Black woman. Her debut collection, Good to Me: A Poetic Journey To Self-Acceptance and Self-Preservation, takes the reader on a journey from self-sacrifice to self-care and personal freedom. Other selected poems have appeared or are forthcoming in 805 lit + art, Eve Poetry, Split This Rock, and elsewhere. She has performed at various events across United States and Canada, and is a former Southern Regional winner of the Mississippi Poetry-Out-Loud Contest. She now resides in Ontario, Canada.
